Charles O. “Chad” Holliday (1948- ) is DuPont’s current chairman and chief executive officer. He was named president of the company in 1997, CEO on February 1, 1998, and chairman on January 1, 1999. He is the first DuPont chief executive to have had extensive experience outside the United States. Holliday has been instrumental in redefining DuPont’s mission, replacing the venerable motto, “Better Things for Better Living” with “The miracles of science”® slogan which melds the company’s traditional strengths in basic research with new disciplines such as biotechnology. Holliday also has strengthened DuPont’s commitment to the environment.
