Overview

Edgar S. Woolard Jr. (1934- ) was instrumental in helping DuPont restructure to meet the challenges of the emerging global economy of the late 20th century. He met these challenges with a corporate reorganization effort aimed at reducing inefficiency and freeing up resources for growth in more promising areas. He established DuPont as one of the most environmentally conscious chemical manufacturers by committing the company to a goal of zero waste and zero emissions while setting aside thousands of acres for wildlife habitats.
