Overview

DuPont’s Land Legacy Program releases large tracts of company-owned land for use as wildlife and natural vegetation preserves. Since 1983 DuPont has donated 50,000 acres – worth nearly $70 million – in the United States. Worldwide donations approach 300 square miles, including a large tract of land in the hills of DuPont’s Asturias, Spain, property. The company’s Victoria, Texas, plant began a wildlife management program on 3,500 acres in 1990, and between 1994 and 1998 DuPont created a wetland preserve on the property. A 53-acre wetland includes an education center.
