Since its founding, DuPont has held fast to core values of safety, health, ethics, fair and respectful treatment of people and environmental stewardship. DuPont has established a global reputation for excellence in safety management. In 1805 DuPont was one of a few companies to hire a physician for employees. In 1813 the firm implemented an employee savings plan. In 1935 it established one of the world’s first industrial medicine facilities. Central to the company’s drive toward sustainable growth is a decrease in its environmental footprint.
